Distinguished custom furniture designer Jean de Merry's Los Angeles showroom, located at the historic West Hollywood commercial design complex, features a prominent charcoal-black surface embellished with a brushed steel logo.

On two occasions celebrating the showing of a new designer in their exquisitely curated showroom, the owners commissioned me to sketch, illustrate and install a temporary mural, dressing the full coverage of the 320 square foot wall in verdant, botanical imagery evoking spring.

First Design

Prompted by a similar illustration in my portfolio, the showroom owners asked that my first of my two mural commissions (right) center on a large willow tree with lushly drawn foliage interspersed by the names of every furniture designer currently showing in their collection.

The second mural (top) had a much broader prompt, with the client asking only that it feature large carnations and vegetal accents.

First Design
